How I have helped

"I wasn't sure what to expect from therapy, but Victoria made it feel completely manageable from the very first call. She has a way of helping you see things differently without ever telling you what to think. After a difficult few years, I finally feel like I understand myself better."

— Client, 2024

"I came to Victoria struggling with anxiety that had built up over a long time. What struck me most was how she tailored every session to where I was that week — nothing felt formulaic. The breathing and mindfulness tools she introduced have become part of my daily life."

— Client, 2024

"As a young person I was nervous about opening up to someone I didn't know, but Victoria created a space where I felt genuinely heard. She never made me feel judged, and that made all the difference. I'd encourage anyone who is hesitant to just make that first call."

— Young person, 2024

Your questions answered

I'm not sure if therapy is right for me — where do I start?

That uncertainty is completely normal, and you don't need to have everything figured out before getting in touch. The free initial telephone call is precisely for this — it's a no-pressure conversation where we can talk through what has brought you to this point and decide together whether working together feels right.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is about getting to know you and understanding what you'd like to work on. There's no fixed agenda — we go at your pace. It's also an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you might have.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person and depends on what you're bringing to therapy. Some people find that a focused short course of six to eight sessions is enough; others prefer to work over a longer period. We'll review this together as we go, and you're never locked in to a set number.

Is everything I share kept confidential?

Yes — everything discussed in sessions is held in strict confidence. The only exceptions are where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, which I will always discuss with you openly wherever possible. I follow the ethical guidelines set by the NCPS.

Do you offer online sessions as well as in person?

Yes, I offer both in-person and online sessions, so wherever you are based we can find a way to work together. Many people find online sessions just as effective, and they can make it easier to fit therapy around a busy schedule.

What if I've never talked about my feelings before and find it difficult?

You wouldn't be alone in that — many people who come to therapy have never done anything like it before. There's no expectation to open up immediately or talk in a particular way. We work at whatever pace feels comfortable for you, and part of my role is to help create the conditions where that gradually becomes easier.
